Classes

These listings were inspired to promote 60+ Exercise Classes at HNCC but now include other activities in the Highgate Newtown wider catchment area.

From March 2020, most classes were suspended due to the lockdown, but some are now being held ONLINE - see individual pages (pan down from Classes) for further details of how to join these sessions.

Over 60s Exercise Classes were mostly held in the People's Gospel Mission Hall and funded by HNCC until 2017, when we were informed that donations were needed. To make it affordable to those who are on low incomes, we evolved a system of self-funding, and a signing-in register for each class, with students contributing an anonymous amount of £1 to £5 in the box (aiming to average £3.50). The weekly donations were paid into the HNCC account, to help fund room rent and tutor fees. As the Bertram Street venue was closed for rebuilding, scheduled from 2019 to 2021, all the HNCC's activities were moved to other venues. ChiKung is independent and now open to all ages - these were included in our original flier (now in need of updating) - watch this space for further developments.

The Art Workshops and the Under 5s sessions moved to several different venues. Wood-4-All, continued for a while at Bertram Street, while they refurbished a new venue nearby - update also needed.
